Blizzard games are finally coming to Steam
Some of your favorite Blizzard games are coming to Steam. Blizzard announced today that it plans to offer some of its games on the PC store. “While we are committed to continually investing and supporting Battle.net, we want to break down barriers to make it easier for players everywhere to find and enjoy our games,” the announcement said.

Blizzard games coming to Steam

The first Blizzard game to come to Steam will be Overwatch 2 and will be available on August 10. As the Overwatch 2 Invasion event, which introduces the long-awaited PvE story missions, is approaching, we can say that the Steam expansion is just in time for the players. On the other hand, getting rid of Battle.net is not possible, players on Steam will need to link Overwatch 2 to their Battle.net accounts. However, Steam’s facilities such as friend list and achievements will be available during the game.

Although Blizzard has stated that it will bring multiple games to Steam, Overwatch 2 is the only game it has announced so far and said it will share more games “when the time is right”. On the other hand, it’s no surprise that Overwatch 2 is the game chosen as Blizzard’s Steam ambassador. At a time when player participation in Overwatch 2 has plummeted, perhaps Blizzard hopes that the arrival of brand new and highly anticipated content on a brand new platform will boost those numbers.
