The design of Apple Watch Ultra differs from traditional Apple Watch models. In addition to the titanium body, there is a flat glass covering the screen, reinforced buttons and a gray ceramic back that is compatible with the titanium coating. The FCC image revealed the expected black model of the Watch Ultra.When launching a new device, technology companies must share the details with the FCC and obtain approval months in advance. Apple also did this before the Apple Watch Ultra was released in September 2022. In the image, we see an Apple Watch Ultra model with a darker, almost black ceramic back case and a non-recessed, plastic-looking Action button, similar to Apple’s Apple Watch Series models.
The Apple Watch Ultra 2 model, introduced in September 2023, comes in the same natural titanium color as the first generation. Before the launch, it was suggested that Apple might introduce a dark option for the previous model, which was initially tested but later cancelled. Apple Watch Ultra 3 model may come with a black case option.
