Cryptocurrency exchange BitMEX will restrict Russian users from accessing the exchange from within the borders of the European Union.
BitMEX notified users of its new decision via e-mail. The move is part of the exchange’s efforts to comply with EU restrictive measures.
According to the e-mail sent, Russian users will not be able to access the stock market within the borders of the European Union as of 11 July. Users will not be able to log in to their accounts and use the platform in any way.
The restrictions will not cover Russian citizens as well as Russian users residing in the EU and Switzerland. It will be valid at EU borders only for users residing in Russia.
Restrictions also included persons residing in the EU but trading on behalf of other legal entities.
No statement was made for Russian users accessing the stock market from Russia.
