BitMex co-founder Benjamin Delo sentenced to 30 months probation.

Benjamin Delo, co-founder of BitMEX, one of the leading crypto asset trading platforms, has been sentenced to 30 months probation without house arrest. As we reported earlier, Delo and other co-founders Arthur Hayes and Samuel Reed were accused in 2020 of circumventing US anti-money laundering requirements. Both Hayes and Delo were subsequently found guilty of violating said law, which carries a maximum prison sentence of five years.

Delo’s spokesperson said in a statement on the subject:

“Ben is pleased to finally draw a line on this issue and looks forward to directing his focus, time and energy back on donations. ”

Hayes and Delo also paid a $10 million per capita fine to the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
