Heather Morgan, accused of laundering $4.5 billion in Bitcoin stolen from the Bitfinex exchange, has been granted a job search.
A judge approved Morgan’s request to “take a legitimate job and earn more than $10,000 a month,” Bloomberg reported.
Morgan and her husband, Ilya Lichtenstein, were arrested in New York and facing money laundering charges. The couple, who were later released on bail, could face up to 25 years in prison if found guilty.
The US Department of Justice seized $3.6 billion in Bitcoin from the Bitfinex attack in 2016.
