Mining companies are going through difficult days due to the rising energy prices and low prices of cryptocurrencies with the pandemic. However, some hacker attacks continue to make the industry even more challenging.

In a complaint to the Southern District of New York, Gryphon CEO Rob Chang claimed that Sphere 3D sent 18 of his Bitcoin to an address belonging to a scammer posing as Sphere 3D’s finance director in January.

According to the filing, Gryphon performed this process 8 times.

The lawsuit also alleges that Gryphon provided bad services to his partner and misrepresented Sphere 3D’s computing power as his own in public statements.

Representatives of Sphere 3D said they claimed more than $75,000 in damages in the lawsuit, excluding interest and costs.
