Professional golf tournament Sunshine Tour has partnered with Luno to offer cryptocurrency prizes. Golfers will be able to receive prizes in Bitcoin as well as fiat money prizes.
The golfer who came first in the tournament held in many African countries such as Botswana, Kenya, Mauritius, Tanzania and South Africa will receive $31,000 in Bitcoin, while the second and third will receive $12,000 and $6,000 in Bitcoin, respectively.

The relationship between sports and cryptocurrencies continues to increase. In 2021, India-based crypto platform Bitbns promised to give $2,700 in digital assets to every Indian athlete who won the Tokyo Olympics.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was among the sports organizations that announced that the athletes would be awarded with digital assets.
