US-based cryptocurrency mining company Marathon Digital Holdings shared its monthly statistics. The company generated five times more Bitcoins compared to August 2022, earning 1,072 BTC last month. However, this amount was 9% less than the figure recorded last month.
Officials stated that productivity has dropped somewhat due to adverse weather conditions in the country:
“Record temperatures in the state of Texas have caused us to temporarily shut down our equipment. Even though we lost productivity on a monthly basis, we prevented greater losses.”
Fred Thiel, CEO of Marathon Digital
Marathon Digital has announced Bitcoin generation and equipment updates for August. The company increased its operational hash rate by 2% on a monthly basis to 19.1 EH/s and its installed hashrate by 1% on a monthly basis to 23.1 EH/s. Officials stated that this increase was realized thanks to the new generation S19 XP equipment.
With the latest data, the cryptocurrency miner has reached its first domestic target of 23 EH/s. Marathon now wants to increase its capacity to 30 EH/s.
According to the Q2 balance sheet shared by the Bitcoin miner, its revenue increased by more than 220% compared to Q2 2022. Marathon Digital sold 63% of the BTC tokens it produced in the second quarter of the year to cover operating costs.
