Microsoft announced that it has brought a feature that users have wanted for a long time to Bing, which is supported by artificial intelligence. With the latest update, voice chat can now be performed from the desktop with the browser’s chat bot.

According to the blog post shared by the technology giant, desktop users will now be able to voice their questions to the chatbot. This feature was already available on mobile; but not for desktop.

Bing can also answer your questions by voice

This feature can be used by pressing the microphone icon in Bing Chat. In addition, Microsoft says that Bing’s chatbot can also answer questions you ask with its own voice. So on the desktop, you will be able to chat with the model aloud.

The new feature currently only supports certain languages, including English, Japanese, French, German and Chinese. Microsoft adds that more language support will come in the future.

Microsoft’s introduction of voice mode to Bing Chat on the desktop comes as the company prepares to withdraw support for Cortana, its digital assistant in Windows. The company recently announced that the assistant will be unplugged at the end of this year.

It would not be wrong to say that the technology giant is trying to direct its users to Bing and the artificial intelligence-supported personal assistant called Copilot, which will come to Windows 11 with its new move. Having the same infrastructure as the Bing chatbot, Copilot will be able to change your computer settings, answer questions, summarize content and much more. Tests of the artificial intelligence tool, which will be added to the taskbar, will begin this month. The company will bring Copilot to all Windows 11 users in the future. There is no information on when the exact date will be.
