Binance US has appointed a member of the FBI’s cybercrime team as its new head of investigation.
Binance US, the US arm of Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has hired a former FBI agent to work with regulators.

Binance US has appointed BJ Kang, who served at the FBI, as head of investigation.
Kang served in the cybercrime unit of the FBI’s Washington field office. The former agent left the FBI, where he worked for 20 years, to join the cryptocurrency exchange.
Brian Shroder, CEO of the company, used the following statements in a statement:
According to the company’s statement, Kang was an FBI audit special agent who took part in Bitcoin-related special cases with colleagues from the IRS, the US Secret Service, and FinCEN.
Kang praised the company’s current work with law enforcement and noted the need for close coordination.
