Global payments network Mercuryo has added support for Dogecoin (DOGE), Ripple (XRP), Fantom (FTM), Circle’s USDC stablecoin and Litecoin (LTC). Mercuryo says it relies on cryptocurrencies to make fast and efficient cross-border payments. The popular meme coin, Dogecoin, is thus reaching wide circles and increasing its adoption. It also proves that it’s not just a joke, there are use cases. However, it is unclear how these developments will affect price performance.
Last June, the venture raised $7.5 million during its Series A funding round led by pan-European venture capital firm Target Global. Founded in 2018, Mercuryo has partnered with companies like Bitfinex, Binance, Trezor, Bithumb, and Trust Wallet. Mercuryo aims to build an ecosystem of payment solutions in the cryptocurrency industry. Thus, it aims to make digital assets more accessible.
Global payments network expands partnerships
As you follow on Kriptokoin.com, last May Mercuryo signed a partnership with decentralized exchange aggregator 1inch Network. In this way, it made possible a fiat foray into decentralized finance (DeFi).
Also in April, it formed a partnership with open payment gateway Volt. It later became one of the first companies in the industry to include open banking payments. Thus, it offers higher transaction speed and stronger security.
The platform added nine more fiat currencies earlier this month
Mercuryo added that Ripple, the company associated with the XRP token, is making fun of cross-border payments and that the protocol is used to facilitate fast and cheap payments. Earlier this month, the platform added nine more fiat currencies. These include the Polish zloty, Swedish krona, Danish krone, Czech Koruna, Swiss franc, Australian dollar, Canadian dollar, Hong Kong dollar and Bulgarian lev.
Global payments network Mercuryo is headquartered in London and Tallinn. However, it has announced that it will soon open a new office in the USA. In this way, the company announced that it will continue its expansion in the country.
