Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao lauded the digital asset reports released by the Biden administration despite a lackluster reception from some sides of the crypto industry.
Changpeng Zhao said in a Twitter thread:
“It is great to see the US moving towards a proposed crypto framework,” he said. The entire government approach to US crypto regulation will bring much-needed consistency and clarity to the current state laws and regulations governing this space.”
The reports released by the White House were considered a crucial step in the US government’s efforts to establish a framework for its policy towards cryptocurrencies. There were calls from the Treasury Department to double down on regulation, more support for research on central bank digital currencies (CBDC), and action plans against the use of digital assets by bad actors.
