Chelsea club owner Roman Abramovic announced that he would sell his club. While discussing who will be the new owners of Chelsea, it turned out that Binance founder and CEO Zhao was in talks with the US investment company Raine Group, which represents the club.

A Binance spokesperson told Reuters that after negotiations, Zhao has given up on buying the club. He cited the reason as Zhao’s lack of priority in owning a football club.

Binance has many deals with the football world. He also sponsored the African Cup of Nations tournament, the Argentina national team and the Italian Serie A team Lazio.

Raine did not respond to a request for comment. Chelsea declined to comment on the sale.
