Binance is rolling out Cardano node updates as the Vasil Hard Fork upgrade approaches. Meanwhile, the latest updates from Vasil Hard Fork have arrived. There are also developments from Cardano-based Metaverse project Cardalonia. Apart from that, there are other news from the Cardano ecosystem.

Binance launches Cardano node updates

Input Output Global (IOG) shared a thread of 13 tweets on Thursday. In this context, he revealed that Binance has started to upgrade its Cardano nodes in anticipation of the Vasil Hard Fork. Input Output Global (IOG) shared:

Binance announced that they have updated their Cardano nodes. That’s why we’re on the road… As always, we would like to thank the Cardano change team for supporting this process.

As you follow on Kriptokoin.com, Vasil Hard Fork is one of the most important Blockchain upgrades of 2022. The hard fork promises to improve Cardano’s security, scalability and smart contract performance. It also allows developers to build more efficient and secure decentralized applications (dApps).

Notably, the upgrade has faced several lags in the past. As IOG founder Charles Hoskinson explained, the developers discovered bugs on the 1.35.0 node that resulted in 3 different versions of the script that had to undergo extensive testing. So it was not possible to start the upgrade at the end of July. The developers have since decided on node 1.35.3 as the final node release for the ADA upgrade. Upgrade preparations are proceeding accordingly.

As explained by IOG, no new bugs were discovered. Only nine minor bugs left on the backlog. There is currently nothing to prevent the Hard Fork. Specifically, over 40% of block-producing share pool operators (SPOs) are already running on 1,35.3 nodes. Also, around 30% of SPOs generating blocks on August 23 are running on the latest node. This represents a 10% increase in 48 hours.

IOG reveals that the team’s goal to launch the upgrade is 75%. He adds that overall, 57% of the nodes on the Cardano main-net are already running on 1,35.3 nodes. Meanwhile, the team conducted extensive testing on the test-net of 4 of TVL’s top 10 Cardano dApps with 1,35.3 nodes. That’s why dApps weren’t overlooked.

Successful Vasil Hard Fork test-net

On August 19, Input-Output Global launched a new public test-net called “YoloNet”. DPTs wanted IOG to create YoloNet. This is because community members think there should be a new public test-net that simulates the hybrid node environment found on main-net.

They also wanted to ensure that ‘unhealthy minfee’ transactions accepted by nodes running version 1.35.2 would not spread to any patched nodes in the ADA community. Adam Dean is a former DPT and co-founder of Buffy Bot Publishing. On YoloNet, a Vasil shared the exciting news that HFC has occurred.
