Google’s keyboard app, Gboard, is getting a major update on the Android side. Gboard 13.3 will bring new features such as pen handwriting mode, voice typing interface change, productive artificial intelligence stickers.New features coming to Gboard
After the split keyboard, Gboard’s next big screen optimization will be the new stylus writing mode. Written using a pen or handwritten will be automatically converted to text. It can be written directly in any text field. It can be opened in Settings – Languages - Language – Handwriting. It will also be possible to erase a letter, word or sentence by scribbling with the pen. Various editing gestures such as select, insert, newline will also be available.Voice typing assistant is a feature that allows the user to speak and type at the same time. The new toolbar comes with the option to hide keys, which frees up screen space when typing with voice. It can be activated by pressing the button next to the microphone. The toolbar can be easily moved to the desired location while typing with voice.
The updated Gboard uses productive AI to help correct spelling, grammar and punctuation with one tap. Corrections can be accessed from the toolbar, and if incorrect corrections are made, they can be indicated. When typing checks are used, typed text, feedback and especially interaction are sent to Google servers and stored for 60 days to offer the user a correction suggestion and improve the feature.
Finally, users will be able to create emoji style stickers using generative artificial intelligence (Emogen).
