Nvidia has started sales of the small RTX 4000 SFF Ada Generation graphics card that promises GeForce RTX 3070-like performance with 70W of power and will fit in almost any desktop computer. Although the low-profile card is small, it is not cheap, in fact more expensive than the RTX 4080 as it is aimed at professional users.

The NvidiaRTX 4000 SFF Ada Generation graphics card has a price tag of $ 1,250, but as always, what manufacturers sell is above this price. For example, the PNY Nvidia RTX 4000 SFF Ada Generation graphics card retails for $1,444. By the way, it should be noted that the card is equipped with four Mini-DisplayPort connectors. Therefore, it may be necessary to add to the cost the price of an mDP-DP or mDP-HDMI adapter.

RTX 4000 SFF Island Generation features

Nvidia RTX 4000 SFF Ada Generation has AD104 GPU with 6,144 out of 7,680 active CUDA cores, as well as 20GB of GDDR6 ECC memory that connects to the GPU via a 160-bit interface. The peak frequency of the card is also limited to 1560 MHz to reduce power consumption. In this way, the power consumption has been reduced to 70W. Thanks to its 70W TDP value, there is no extra power connector on the board, so it can be plugged into any motherboard and run.
In terms of performance, the RTX 4000 SFF Ada Generation is similar to the GeForce RTX 3070 on paper. Still, with 20GB of memory, this card will be a bit more future-proof than the RTX 3070 and also potentially more useful for professionals and AI researchers. Other benefits of the RTX 4000 SFF Ada include support for Nvidia’s professional drivers and professional software ISVs. The card also comes with a 3-pin mini-DIN connector for stereoscopic 3D output (eg Nvidia 3D Vision) and supports Frame Lock for multi-display applications.
