Many of the social media platforms such as Instagram and Twitter use a badge called a blue tick today. In this way, when we enter the accounts of well-known famous people or go to a store’s page to shop, we can understand that it is verified, that is, not fake. But today, due to an error in the Instagram DM (Direct Message) area, all users seem to have blue ticks.

Instagram gave blue ticks to everyone on posts shared in DM!

Today, some people who shared posts in individual and group chats in DM in Instagram reported that there were blue ticks next to the names of the people or pages they shared. Many people even claimed that they got blue ticks by posting their own post.

Although it is suggested that people who initially verified with their phone number or email address may have earned the blue tick badge, this is not the case. So Instagram doesn’t distribute blue ticks to everyone. However, due to this problem, especially for iOS users, even newly opened or fake accounts that imitate someone are displayed as verified on the DM with a blue tick.

In the screenshots taken by us above, the Android user’s DM screen is seen on the left, and the iOS user’s DM screen is seen in the middle and right. It seems that only the iPhone model from the two parties displaying the same message here sees the same share as a blue tick.

Of course, it could also be the other way around. In other words, you can view the blue tick badge that is not seen in anyone else. For this reason, you should not trust the blue tick badges of the pages you shop and the accounts of the people you follow until the related problem is resolved.
