Fortnite’s producer, Epic Games, announced a new investment. The company announced that it has invested one billion dollars each in Sony and Kirkbi, the parent companies of the Lego Group. With this investment, the equity value of the famous game company became 31.5 billion dollars. The company said in a statement that the new funding will go towards efforts to build a child-friendly metaverse.

This investment news comes a few days after Lego and Epic Games decided to make a joint metaverse for kids. With the new partnership, the companies will create an immersive digital experience for kids and make the metaverse universe safer and more fun for kids.

Epic Games CEO and founder Tim Sweeney gave the following words in his statement.

“As we reimagine the future of fun and gaming, we need partners who share our vision. We found Sony and Kirkbi companies for this need.
