MATIC gained over 15 percent after announcing a metaverse supporting Polygon-based assets. Thus, Polygon price has surged in the last 24 hours amid the broader cryptocurrency recovery. MATIC, Polygon’s native cryptocurrency, managed to rise from $ 0.46 to $ 0.53 over the past day. At the time of writing, it is pegged at $0.51. Here are the details…

MATIC is the biggest winner among the top 50 cryptocurrencies

MATIC’s tremendous growth has outstripped the largest cryptocurrencies by market cap such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL) in the past 24 hours. It has been interesting to see that MATIC is the top earner among the top 50 cryptocurrencies by market cap. According to Coinecko data, Polygon has a market cap of $4.1 billion and currently ranks as the 19th largest cryptocurrency.

MATIC continues to provide solutions to the usability and scalability issues found in the Ethereum Blockchain. Thus, it is becoming more and more popular among crypto investors. Polygon is currently changing hands at a lower price compared to the $2.9 high recorded on December 27, 2021. But the recent growth of the cryptocurrency deserves praise. It is notable that he is fighting for survival, especially in the ongoing “winter” season in cryptocurrencies.

Still, as crypto investors’ interest in Web3 apps grows, it’s not surprising to see MATIC posting good gains. Polygon is positioning itself as one of the largest projects for Web3 applications.

HTC launches metaverse phones supporting Polygon and ETH

Popular mobile phone maker HTC has announced the release of its metaverse phone, the Desire 22 Pro, with support for Polygon and Ethereum. The device, which has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, comes with the Viverse app and Vive wallet. It allows users to manage Ethereum and Polygon assets, including non fungible tokens (NFTs). HTC pre-loaded its 6.6-inch phone with apps from Viverse, its metaverse arm. It aims to provide users with a rich metaverse experience without a VR headset.

The phone will be available for purchase in Taiwan, Japan and Europe, according to the company. HTC has not announced the availability of the metaverse phone in other regions. Mihailo Bjelic, co-founder of Polygon, announced the development on Twitter. Bjelic used the following statements:

Mass adoption of Web3 will happen on mobile, and Polygon is preparing for it. Our strategy is not to make our own devices. Instead, we will integrate with existing manufacturers. Today we are proud to announce the first major integration.
