YouTube, one of the world’s largest social media platforms operating under Google, has faced a brand new fraud method. This method, which is a type of phishing, attracted attention as it was quite convincing.
According to incoming information, the phishing email scam, which wants to snare YouTube users, was first noticed by Kevin Breeze, who is known for its content in the technology field. In images, what looks real; however, it was seen that the users were tried to be deceived with an e-mail sent from a fake e-mail address.
Fake email says YouTube has changed its policies, prompting users to click a link and download a document
First of all, we can see that the email address has the name “[email protected]”. This account, which has a ‘no-reply’ address, which is frequently used by many companies, including YouTube, and which can send but not receive messages, looks like it’s really YouTube’s.
However, the email says that YouTube has changed its monetization policies, so the user has to download a file by clicking a link. Many people overlook the possibility of scams because the address looks unrealistic. And when they download the document, they can put their device’s security and privacy at risk. Therefore, it is useful to be careful about this and never click on these links.
