Besiktas Municipality is stepping into the metaverse with the “Besiktas Metasaver Project”. With this project, the municipality is developing recycling bins for the metaverse.
Beşiktaş Municipality, which stands out with its sensitivity towards the environment and innovative sustainability solutions, is now taking action to raise awareness in the metaverse universe for a more livable environment. The municipality, which directs the people of Beşiktaş to recycling with its latest Transform and Kazan project, develops recycling bins for the metaverse universe with the Beşiktaş Metasaver Project, which stands out with the slogan “We owe the future a livable world”. The purpose of this project; to draw attention to the issue of waste and to create a clean environmental awareness.
In the next phase of the project, there will be solutions for digital wastes such as unnecessary e-mails, photos and files that cause energy consumption and harm the environment.
The statement made by the municipality on the subject included the following statements:
“As a municipality that has signed many environmental projects, recycling and waste separation issues have always been on our agenda. Currently, dozens of projects we have realized in this field are continuing. Finally, we have established incentive systems for our neighbors to recycle their waste with our Recycle & Win application. Now we have developed recycle bins for the metaverse universe. First of all, we aim to raise awareness about the waste in the environment we live in.
Our next goal will be to produce solutions for our digital waste. Our unnecessary e-mails, photos, files that we keep, all of them cause energy consumption somewhere. Our waste bins will act as a sorter for our digital waste in the Metaverse universe and will raise awareness of our citizens about our digital waste.”
The project’s website includes the logos of projects such as Sandbox, Decentraland and Gala Games. However, the details regarding the issue have not been disclosed yet.
