With the fifth developer beta of iOS 16, Apple brought back one of the most requested features since the iPhone X launch in 2017: the ability to see the battery percentage in the status bar. It seems that this function does not work on all iPhone models.

It may come to these devices in the future

According to posts on Apple Developer Forums and Reddit, the following models support battery percentage display:

  • iPhone 13/iPhone 13 Pro/iPhone 13 Pro Max
  • iPhone 12/iPhone 12 Pro/iPhone 12 Pro Max
  • iPhone 11 Pro/iPhone 11 Pro Max
  • iPhone XS/iPhone XS Max
  • iPhone X

All other iPhone models with a notch, including the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 12 mini, and the iPhone 11 and iPhone XR, did not receive the battery percentage indicator.

However, since iOS 16 is still in beta testing, it is highly likely that Apple will implement this feature on all iPhones.
