A new feature has been discovered in the new version of Windows 11 that will delight laptop owners. Software giant Microsoft has added a section to the 23H2 update, which will be released towards the end of the year, showing how much power the installed applications consume.

The feature in question is similar to the battery life statistics found on iOS and Android smartphones. The power consumption screen will provide a comprehensive report of energy usage in the last 24 hours or 7 days. It will also show you which software is consuming power in the background.

Battery usage per app can be monitored

Thanks to this feature, Windows 11 users will have the chance to detect the applications that consume the battery most actively. By tracking battery usage per application, they will be able to easily see which applications they need to interfere with in order for their computer to last longer.

Power consumption data can be sorted by general usage, active status, background and name. As we mentioned at the beginning, this feature will be available in the Windows 11 23H2 update, which will be released in the fourth quarter of 2023. The new version will also include energy recommendations for power saving.
