Although a big move is expected by Apple every year, unfortunately the batteries of iPhones do not show any significant improvement. Considering the series released this year, the iPhone 15 Plus and Pro Max show a better performance, while the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 have a battery life that we can call “sufficient”. On the other hand, new rumors show that this situation will not change in the iPhone 16.
In the images leaked by @KosutamiSan via MacRumors, the battery capacity of the iPhone 16 Pro appears to be 3,355mAh. Considering the 3,274mAh battery of the iPhone 15 Pro as a reference, it is a good improvement, but this capacity could still be better for a modern smartphone.
So if the leak is true, there will be no significant change in the battery life of the iPhone 16 Pro. Just like the iPhone 15 Pro has the same lifespan as the iPhone 14 Pro despite having a marginally larger battery than its predecessor…

According to the leak, the iPhone 16 Pro is stated to have a lifespan of up to approximately 23 hours when watching locally stored videos. However, this may not be true considering the source doesn’t have much of a track record with leaks yet and it’s early days for iPhone 16 leaks. There is also a possibility that the battery may be changed, as it is said to be an “early stage” iPhone 16 Pro battery.
However, if the leak is true, there is some good news. Because although the capacity of the battery does not change much, its outer body changes. Since the foil casing of batteries in current iPhones is replaced here with a frosted metal one, the thermal efficiency of the battery may increase. In other words, the phone will be able to run cooler and operate at full power for longer when performing demanding tasks.
