READING NOW Battery capacities of iPhone 14 models have emerged: Don’t expect a big difference…

Apple isn’t a company with a great track record of battery life with devices like the iPhone, iPad, and especially the Apple Watch. However, it is clear that he has been trying to change this in recent years, and he has proven it with the iPhone 13 series. But he seems to have taken a risky decision with the iPhone 14 series.

Apple does not disclose the battery capacity of its devices, but instead shares data based on estimates, which can often be confusingly strange. Still, the mAh value usually comes up quickly.

This is the case with the iPhone 14 series. We now know the capabilities of each member of the new series.

Let’s start with the basic iPhone 14… we see that it has a power pack of 3,279 mAh, which is a slight upgrade over the 3,227 mAh of the iPhone 13, but this upgrade is so minor that it probably won’t make a noticeable difference in battery life.

The iPhone 14 Plus has a 4,325mAh battery and the absence of an iPhone 13 Plus means we can’t compare it to the previous year’s model.

Looking at the iPhone 14 Pro with a 3,200mAh battery, we can say that this is a more noticeable upgrade since the iPhone 13 Pro has a 3,095mAh battery.

Finally, the iPhone 14 Pro Max packs a 4,323 mAh battery, which is smaller than last year’s 4,352 mAh. This 29mAh reduction probably won’t make any appreciable difference either.

As for the risky decision we mentioned above… Although there is no significant change in the numerical values of the batteries, Apple has decided to increase the estimated battery life for its new iPhones. This means that Apple believes updates to its software and chipset will make a significant difference. So, by extending the estimated battery life, Apple is sending a message showing how much it trusts the new software, the A15 Bionic and A16 Bionic chipsets. But how much this message can reflect the truth, time will tell…
