Base, the layer-2 network that Coinbase recently launched on the testnet, plans to launch its mainnet in 2023.
Layer-2 network Base, launched by Coinbase in February, continues in the testnet process. Airdrop possibilities are also discussed for Base, which many crypto investors are eagerly waiting for.
Base leader and Coinbase head of protocol Jesse Pollak stated that they plan to launch the mainnet this year, although Base did not share the official schedule. Pollak also addressed the issue of decentralization.
Base Plans to Release Mainnet This Year
Coinbase’s tier-2 network Base wants to complete the testnet phase and move to the mainnet, which has been live since late February. Jesse Pollak, the head of Base, stated in an interview with TechCrunch that they are considering launching Base’s mainnet in 2023.
Conveying his views on the subject, Pollak said;
Launched by Coinbase to create a decentralized and efficient blockchain environment, Base aims to bring together millions of people with its easy-to-use interface.
Pollak confirmed that their near-term plans and the subject they are working on is mainnet. In addition, Pollak noted that the work carried out by Coinbase and Base is on decentralization.
