Fantasy genre writer Brandon Sanderson, best known for writing the Mistborn novels and the latest books in the Wheel of Time series, has received a letter from Elden Ring publisher Bandai Namco to collaborate on a future project.
During a live stream on his personal YouTube channel, Sanderson was presented with a promotional bag containing a model sword, cloak, map of Lands Between, and a statuette of Malenia, one of the bosses in Elden Ring. Inside this bag was a letter stating that Bandai Namco wanted to work with Sanderson.
Sanderson originally wanted to work at Elden Ring as well
Sanderson didn’t read this letter completely at the time of publication, but he said Bandai Namco wanted to do something with him. and he stated that he was also interested in it. He even said he had something on his mind and wanted to convey it to Bandai Namco and see what they think.
Sanderson’s statement on the subject during the broadcast is as follows: “I spent 4 years writing the story of Magic: The Gathering, and when Magic contacted me and wanted to write a story, I already had it written and I continued it. . Likewise, ‘what if I made a Soulsborne game?’ I was thinking. Of course, I do not decide this, but such things are always in the back of my head. Therefore, expect to hear from me in the future, I always have ideas.”
Sanderson had previously stated that he wanted to work with FromSoftware, the developer of Elden Ring, and would even better work with him rather than George RR Martin. Of course, all this does not mean that there will be a joint work between Sanderson and Bandai Namco.
It’s not even clear whether this will be a game, even if they work together. Maybe Bandai Namco will ask Sanderson to write a book on Elden Ring’s corpus, we don’t know. What are you thinking? Please do not forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments.
