MediaTek, one of the leading names in the market when it comes to smartphone processors, has turned all its focus to the Dimensity 9300 chipset. As you may recall, various leaks have surfaced showing that the Dimensity 9300 has a “4 + 4” CPU configuration, meaning that the chipset will be powered by four Cortex-X4 ultra cores and four Cortex-A715 large cores. Later, we learned that one of these four performance cores will run at a higher clock speed than the other three.
In a new report shared today, it is said that MediaTek may experience various limitations on the graphics unit side, despite a potentially more powerful CPU. In other words, the GPU to accompany the processor may be limited to the designs ARM releases every year.As you know, both Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Dimensity 9300 will be based on TSMC’s N4P node. The source of the leak says that the overall results between the two processors will depend on power consumption. Therefore, the performance difference will not be at the expected level. But MediaTek might have the advantage, at least in the CPU category, with higher performance cores.
In addition, current leaks show that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will be released in two different versions. One of them will have a 1 + 5 + 2 configuration and the other will have a 2 + 4 + 2 configuration. In this context, we can say that there will be a tight competition between MediaTek Dimensity 9300 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
