The Call of Duty fight between Sony and Microsoft has been on the agenda frequently in recent months and has tired both Call of Duty players and Xbox and PlayStation users. On the other hand, last week, Phil Spencer, President of Xbox, made a statement before meeting with European Union representatives and gave the good news that he signed a 10-year agreement with Nintendo and that all Xbox and Activision games, especially Call of Duty, will come to Nintendo consoles.

However, the UK Market and Competition Authority (CMA) revealed in a statement today that the Nintendo Switch is too weak for Call of Duty. In short, let alone the game on the console, it may not even open at all.

Has Microsoft fooled Nintendo users?

After Microsoft’s statement, CMA rolled up its sleeves and compared the performance of Nintendo Switch with other consoles and determined that current Call of Duty games, many Xbox games and games with equivalent graphics are not possible to work on the Nintendo Switch console.

Although the research is based on the processor and GPU performances of the consoles, there are also very small margins of error, according to the authorities. However, one thing is for sure, it is definitely not possible to play Call of Duty and similar games on Nintendo Switch with the same performance as Xbox Series S/X and PS5.

Of course, this naturally means “Did Microsoft cheat Nintendo users?” begs the question. According to experts, the answer is both yes and no. Because Microsoft does not make a statement about the future of Call of Duty in its statement.

If you remember, the statement made included the phrase “Activision games such as Call of Duty”. In other words, the company actually stated that only Activision games would come, and it created excitement by mentioning the name Call of Duty in its statement.

“We signed a binding 10-year contract to bring Xbox games to Nintendo gamers. This is just part of our commitment to bring Xbox games and Activision titles like Call of Duty to more players on more platforms.”

Of course, Microsoft could prove the UK Market and Competition Authority officials wrong and offer Nintendo users an overhauled version of Call of Duty’s graphics. However, many Nintendo users are feeling a little cheated right now.
