It has been learned that NVIDIA’s two new graphics cards, RTX 3080 12 GB and RTX 3070 Ti, which are expected to be released in the first two quarters of 2021, have been delayed. In this sense, it is said that the famous technology giant wants to see the moves of Intel, which is considered certain to enter the graphics card market in the first months of 2021.
Both cards sag into the second half of 2022
As you know, NVIDIA and AMD have been in a struggle for years to become the best graphics card manufacturer. A brand new competitor is coming very soon to AMD, which has been trying to respond to NVIDIA’s higher-performance graphics cards with price / performance-oriented products recently. Announcing its product range in 2022 recently, Intel announced that it would enter the graphics card market before the end of the first half of 2022.
In this sense, the news of delay came from NVIDIA, which is expected to announce new graphics cards on December 17 and enter the market with RTX 3070 Ti 16 GB and RTX 3080 12 GB in the first half of 2022. While there is no information on when these two GPUs will be announced and released, the company may be waiting to see how Intel’s upcoming Alchemist card works.
Another reason for NVIDIA to delay graphics cards is the shortage of chips in the market. Making a statement on the subject earlier, Intel CEO Patrick Paul Gelsinger stated that the current chip shortage could last until 2023. In this sense, NVIDIA may not have wanted to enter the market early because it was worried about having stock problems.
