Dominating the market with its processor production, Intel is still the leader in terms of market share, although its throne has been shaken. We have been waiting for a move in graphics card production from this giant company for years. Things may not be going well for the Arc Alchemist series, the company’s last serious work on graphics cards.
Arc Alchemist is quite different from display-only graphics cards like Intel HD Graphics that Intel offers in laptops. Alchemist, an external graphics card series, was coming to challenge Nvidia’s GeForce series and AMD’s Radeon series, which are currently competing in the market. While it was difficult to reach graphics cards in our country due to both the price and the stock situation, Intel’s breakthrough could have been like a medicine.
Intel may be delayed for graphics cards
Alchemist graphics cards were expected to join the competition in the market by debuting in May. With the release of these graphics cards, a third player would join the market, which would ultimately benefit consumers. However, a promotional poster released by Intel updates the release date, which we know as May until now, to Summer 2022. That means a delay of up to three months, potentially.
While the company hasn’t announced a delay decision yet, this promotional poster may have helped reveal something early. With the poster showing a limited production version of the graphics card, we get to know a little more about what the card we’ve been waiting for looks like.
Most of the graphics cards Intel has announced so far were not external and aimed to display cheap rather than performance. However, the Alchemist series comes to offer performance as the opposite of this definition. At this stage, they are not coming to be the best in the market, but the top model of the series, the Arc A770, offers performance close to the RTX 3060 Ti. This is something most of us are looking for.
Finding a video card outside of our country has become quite easy in recent months. Although there was a global crisis due to mining until a while ago, it can be observed that stocks have returned to normal and prices have decreased to more normal levels. We hope that it will be easier to find a video card in our country.
Do you think Intel can achieve success with Arc Alchemist graphics cards?
