ARK 2 release date delayed
In a statement made on its community page, Studio Wildcard noted that the long-awaited ARK 2 has been delayed to the end of 2024 and pointed out the challenges of working with Unreal Engine 5. In this context, the studio stated that they “aim to use this cutting-edge technology to its full potential while creating a game with a never-before-reached scope in Studio Wildcard.”
ARK 2, which will include the famous actor Vin Diesel, will stand out with “Soulslike combat, only primitive weapons and tight third-person mechanics” compared to the survival structure of the first game. That’s why Studio Wildcard is also developing a remaster version of ARK: Survival Evolved called ARK: Survival Ascended for fans of the original game.
Unreal Engine 5 version of the first game coming soon
Expected to include major visual and performance upgrades compared to the main game, this new version will bring cross-platform multiplayer support, including the Battle Royale-inspired Survival of the Fittest mode. In addition, it should be noted that with the new version, the existing ARK: Survival Evolved servers will be closed. However, players will be able to continue playing on single-player servers.
ARK: Survival Ascended will be released for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 at the end of August. Let us remind you that ARK 2 will be released for PC and Xbox in late 2024. In addition, the new production will be added to Game Pass from day one.
