There is a new development about Apple Car, which has been talked about for a while but still hasn’t made an official statement. Claims that the US-based technology manufacturer Apple is designing a car are on the agenda. Although no leaked information emerged at first, a patent application last month strengthened the rumors.
The information revealed in Apple’s patent application confirmed an innovation that would be used in a car. The patent in question shows a new design for the signal system in vehicles.
Apple Car hit another hurdle
Another hurdle has emerged in Apple’s car project. Talks between the technology company and two major battery companies CATL and BYD have stalled, Reuters reported. China-based companies CATL and BYD are trying to produce lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries instead of lithium-ion batteries.
Earlier, it was revealed that Apple was teaming up with these companies for the Apple Car battery. However, it is claimed that both companies could not meet Apple’s demands. Because, according to the news, the US-based technology giant asked its potential suppliers to invest in the USA.
Allegedly, Apple requested companies to establish facilities in the USA for battery production. At the same time, the tech maker asked Chinese suppliers to set up teams in the US. However, both companies did not respond positively to Apple’s request. However, this answer from CATL is associated with tensions between the US and China. But BYD is uncomfortable with a facility that will only serve Apple’s plans.
In the meantime, there are news that Apple, which could not get what it expected from China, turned to Japanese battery manufacturers. Moreover, earlier this month, Apple allegedly sent a team to Japan to meet with several companies. Earlier, there were reports that Apple is close to an agreement with Hyundai. In early 2021, rumors had risen again. However, Apple did not get results from these negotiations.
