WhatsApp, the world’s most popular instant messaging application, has released a new feature. This new feature, which can be used in both iOS and Android beta versions and also comes in the stable version for some Android users, allows the messages in a chat with the “Disappearing message” feature to be stored.
The disappearing messages feature is one of the features in WhatsApp. Thanks to this feature, users allow messages to be automatically deleted after a certain period of time. This is where the message recording feature comes into play. Messages saved in chat will not be deleted when disappearing message is enabled. WhatsApp has named this new feature “Hold messages”.
Here’s what WhatsApp’s message recording feature will look like:
The new feature of WhatsApp offered to test users will be critical in preventing messages from being lost. However, there will be a point to be noted here. Let’s say you have recorded a message. Then you changed your mind. The message will be deleted automatically and you will not be able to access that message again.
This is how the message recording feature will look on iOS
The fact that the message recording feature has appeared in both iOS and Android beta versions is a clear indication that this feature is in the final stage. Developers will probably bring this new feature to users after one or more stable version updates.
The feature is also visible in the stable version but not working!
While doing research on the new feature of WhatsApp, we saw that this feature is also available in the Android stable version. Unfortunately, our checks did not yield any results. Yes, the feature is available, but we could not find an option to activate this feature in groups or individual chats. The retained messages will appear on the group or person’s detail page.
We think the next update will fix this issue.
