One of the factors that play an important role in the success of Marvel films is that the independent films of the characters are connected at one point and transition to the new era with big events. It is now certain that one of the next big big events in the series will be Secret Wars. So what is this Secret Wars?
To understand the logic behind Secret Wars, let’s first look at the comics. There are two different Secret Wars events in the comic book universe. In the first of these, the Beyonder brings together superheroes and supervillains from the almost omnipotent four-dimensional universe and says, “Come on, let’s fight, I’ll give the winner whatever he wants.” He eliminates those who do not want to fight. Although this 1984 story is beautiful, Secret Wars we will see in the movie will be inspired by the 2015 mini-series.

Dr. Let’s take a look at Strange in the Multiverse of Madness again:
The movie told an important story for the main universe. In this production, where we see that there are different universes, we also saw that the word “Incursion” was used. This word, which is excited by those who are familiar with comics, has a great meaning for the Marvel universe.
The event called Incursion is the name of the collision of two parallel universes in the Marvel universe. In this event, where the realities overlap, the collisions take place over the Earth. Whichever Earth survives, that universe continues to exist. Thus, on the one hand, Marvel cuts out their useless universes. Let’s put that aside.
Did Loki(s) mess up too much?
In the Loki series, Sylvie killed the character called He Who Remains at the end of his fight with the Time Variance Authority. This character was a Kang variant and ran TVA to keep universes from branching out, spawning different timelines.
At the end of the first season, when Loki tried to warn Owen Wilson’s character Mobius, Mobius did not recognize him. Because Loki may actually have arrived in a different timeline, a reality where TVA’s management is in Kang the Conqueror. Let us remind you that Ravonna, the judge in TVA, is also named after Kang’s wife.
Now we have both Incursion and different universes and variants.
Things will heat up with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
At the heart of the idea of time travel in the Marvel universe is the quantum dimension. Naturally, we will see Kang along with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. In this movie, it is a bit unclear whether we will see Kang directly as our main villain or a pawn of Kang. We can see a similar situation with Thanos behind Loki in the first Avengers movie.
Editorial view: Ant-Man is a huge threat to Kang right now. Scott Lang, who came up with the idea of a time heist that paved the way to take down Thanos, knows more about the quantum dimension and time travel than almost anyone. Therefore, Kang will either try to capture Lang to use, or try to kill and eliminate him. Considering the claims that we will see the Ant-Man outfit in Cassie Lang, this would not be surprising at all.
Now we have both Incursion, different universes and variants, and the power to change and combine timelines.
Whole universes against Kang!
In the Secret Wars event, this time we can see Kang as the head of the war instead of the Beyonder. A world of war where multiverses come together will in a sense be a war where different Marvel universes come together. After all, it is not easy to introduce Beyonder from scratch and adapt some characters that played important roles in that series to the universe.
In the Secret Wars story, which is likely to have a bigger battlefield than Infinity War, Kang the Conqueror seems to decide to conquer other timelines instead of creating a single timeline. Before that, he can design a “Battleworld” where the “winner’s universe survives” to weaken heroes and enemies. It is here that Loki will probably reveal Kang’s true purpose, and then the heroes can engage in a fight against Kang. Of course this is just a theory.
Why is Secret Wars one of the most plausible stories for the Marvel Universe?
Editorial comment: With Secret Wars, it will be possible to take the characters that hold together with the main universe and remove those who do not from the universe. In addition, the audience will be able to say “Look, you can start from scratch here”. This is one of the purposes of such big events in comic book universes.
A second problem is the aging of the universe. Don’t just think of it as people getting used to Marvel productions. In comics, time passes slowly at a rate of 1 in 4 in general. In other words, in the last 4 years in our world, the heroes age 1 year. For players, this is not the case. Today Chris Hemsworth is 38 years old, and Tom Hiddleston is 41. Paul Rudd is 53, Chris Pratt is 43, Benedict Cumberbatch is 46, Jeremy Renner is 51, and Mark Ruffalo is 54. These players will be 4 years older 4 years from now, not just 1 year like in the comics. So this production is a pretty good idea to start a new universe with new players.
Avengers: Secret Wars will hit theaters on November 7, 2025.
