Austria aims to switch to renewable heating systems by 2040

Austria is planning changes in the Renewable Heating Law (EWG) in the country in order to reduce its dependence on foreign energy. The government aims to phase out fossil fuel heating systems by 2040 and pave the way for a transition to renewable heating.

In the draft law submitted by Austrian Minister of Climate and Energy Leonore Gewessler, it is desired to reduce the country’s excessive dependence on gas resources, especially Russia, and accelerate the transition to green heating solutions.
