WhatsApp, the world’s most popular instant messaging application, continues to come up with new features. In the past days, we shared with you that the platform will now allow you to react to messages with every emoji. In addition, new privacy features were also released in the previous weeks.
As it is known, the giant platform also included a feature called ‘status’. It is possible to say that this feature is the WhatsApp version of the ‘stories’ we see on Instagram. Now the news has revealed that a brand new feature is planned to be added to the status updates on the platform.
Voice status will be able to increase
The ‘status’ feature in WhatsApp only allows you to share photos, videos or texts. A report shared by WABetaInfo reveals that the platform plans to allow the sharing of voice notes in status updates.
According to the explanations, the new feature, which we can call ‘Audio Status’, will allow users to record audio just like in chats, and these recordings will be shared as ‘Status’. The screenshot shared by WABetaInfo shows that voice memos can be recorded and shared with a microphone icon in the lower right in the status tab.
It is stated that the new feature, which is planned to be added to the status updates, is under development. It is currently unclear when the audio statuses will be available.
