LinkedIn, the world’s largest business networking platform, comes with an update that can be very useful to improve the platform. Jake Poses, LinkedIn’s head of events, announced in a post on his company blog that audio events are coming to LinkedIn.

With this feature, users will be able to participate in live discussions, participate in conversations, and after the event is over, they will be able to connect and network with the people present at the event. These fully digital events of LinkedIn will feature panel discussions, meetings and chat formats.

A video call version will also come:

Audio events will build on LinkedIn’s in-house tools. A video call version of this feature is expected to be announced next spring. Unlike other companies that have voice chat features like Twitter’s audio event feature Spaces, LinkedIn doesn’t plan to include ticketed events for which organizers may charge for access.

This feature, which LinkedIn will bring to the site, first appeared with a conversation platform called Clubhouse. This feature, which we later saw on Twitter, was published in a more advanced way at the end of 2020. Last March, Discord added Stage Channels similar to this feature, and Facebook added Live Audio Rooms in June. Finally, Spotify also announced the Greenroom project.

The number of audio events seems to be increasing. What do you think about this subject? Please do not forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments.
