NFT step came from Atari.combining NFTs with loot boxes, Atari announced that it will launch giftable boxes called GFTs.
Atari has partnered with Republic Realm on the development and release of giftable, non-exchangeable tokens (GFTs) that combine NFTs with loot boxes.
GFTs, like gift boxes, will open on a specific date to reveal a surprise. Each GFT is an NFT on the Ethereum blockchain, and the first collection will open to celebrate Atari’s 50th anniversary. Set of 10 GFTs, each limited edition, can be purchased with credit card or crypto. GFTs are designed with inspiration from the company’s iconic games.

GFTs will be available for purchase from the GFT Shoppe from February 1, 2022. Options will be available in common, rare and epic editions.
