Music, the digital music platform that rivals Spotify owned by Google and owned by YouTube, continues to gain brand new features. The application, whose interface has been updated recently, is now getting a short video feature similar to TikTok’s. Here are the details about YouTube Music’s Samples feature!
YouTube Music’s new feature to give song recommendations: Samples
The platform, which does not have short videos that became widespread with TikTok, is almost non-existent now. This feature, which companies use considering that users will watch it because it will take a short time, came to the video watching platform YouTube under the name Shorts in recent years. It was recently announced that it will come to YouTube Music.
YouTube has announced that they are launching the short video feature for Music with its recent announcement. This scrollable video feed, which the company calls Samples, shows YouTube Music users song recommendations.
According to the import, users are shown a short clip from the suggested song on the Samples page. To listen to the whole song or to learn more about the song, it is enough to click on the video.
One of the best things about this feature is undoubtedly that it shows personalized recommendations. For example, classical music suggestions will appear in front of users who love classical music, while rap songs will appear in front of those who constantly listen to rap. This way, users will not be presented with irrelevant advice most of the time, except for new discoveries.
Brandon Bilinski, YouTube’s director of product management, said in his speech on the subject that they noticed that users discovered more songs with short videos. He also added that while Samples will show suggestions based on what the user listens to the most, sometimes irrelevant suggestions will pop up for new discoveries.
The YouTube Samples feature is now rolling out to both Android and iOS users around the world. The update may not have reached you yet. You may have to wait a bit at this point.
