As you know, Ubisoft’s highly anticipated game, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, will be released on many platforms such as PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X/S and Amazon Luna this year. So much so that the giant producer continues to prepare for new productions of the series, including Codename Red, Hexe, Jade, Invictus and Infinity. Today, Ubisoft shared its financial results for the year 2022-2023, when the Assassin’s Creed series broke records.Assassin’s Creed Valhalla exceeds expectations
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla reportedly registered 44 percent more players than Origins and 19 percent more than Odyssey in a similar time frame. In addition, the popular production managed to become the most successful game in the trilogy, surpassing Origins by 82 percent and Odyssey by 61 percent in total sales.
This success is probably due to the expansion packs Wrath of the Druids, The Siege of Paris and Dawn of Ragnarök for Assasin’s Creed Valhalla. As a matter of fact, Valhalla became one of the most supported games in the trilogy.
Ubisoft hopeful for 2023
According to earnings releases covering the years 2022 and 2023, Ubisoft recorded an 18 percent decline in net sales, 11 percent in digital sales, and 30 percent in retrospective sales from year to year. In-game purchases, on the other hand, increased by 23 percent compared to last year. For those who don’t know, the giant producer is taking steps to reduce costs by up to 200 million euros in the next few years. At this point, the studio’s total workforce was down more than 700 percent compared to September 2022.
At this point, Ubisoft says that it is progressing “well” between 2023 and 2024 and that this success will continue with a few big games to be released in the next fiscal year. These include a major yet to be announced title, including Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Rainbow Six Mobile, Skull and Bones, The Crew Motorfest, The Division Resurgence, XDefiant.
