Assange has been in prison in London since 2019. The British Supreme Court has ruled that Wikileaks founder and informant Julian Assange could be extradited to the United States. Since then, many activists have stepped forward to prevent it and stand in solidarity with Assange. Moreover, a group of crypto investors started to support them.

According to funding platform JuiceBox, AssangeDAO started receiving donations as of February 4. These donations, which started to increase over the weekend, have doubled in the last 24 hours.

According to the AssangeDAO Twitter account, the campaign surpassed ConstitutionDAO as the largest funding in JuiceBox Ethereum history.

AssangeDAO is described as a “cypherpunk community” that aims to raise ETH in exchange for the JUSTICE governance token. The proceeds will be used for “Censored”, the NFT collection created by digital artist Pak with Julian Assange, which we transferred recently.

Proceeds from the sale of the collection will be used to raise awareness in Assange’s legal battle and extradition.
