ASELSAN will exhibit new defense technologies at the IDEF’23 International Defense Industry Fair to be held in Istanbul. ASELSAN GÖKSUR Close Air Defense Missile System and GÖKBERK Mobile Laser Weapon System will be introduced at IDEF’23.

ASELSAN GOKSUR Close Air Defense Missile System

GÖKSUR will use the BOZDOĞAN missile developed by TÜBİTAK-SAGE as an interceptor missile. GÖKSÜR will perform air and missile defense missions against threats such as anti-ship missiles, armed/unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise missiles, warplanes and helicopters.

It is known that GÖKSUR, whose technical features have not yet been announced, will have three different configurations. It will stand out with its 360-degree threat destruction capability, new generation IIR seeker-head guided missile, multi-target interception capability, stand-alone and/or platform-integrated operation, intermediate-stage guidance with data link, and high single-shot interception probability.

GÖKBERK Mobile Laser Weapon System

With the widespread use of laser weapon technologies, ASELSAN focused on these technologies and developed the 5 kW GÖKBERK Mobile Laser Weapon System. It will be able to physically destroy threats with a 5 kW laser weapon. Thanks to the laser weapon technology, it will be able to hit the target without a line of sight, the cost of shooting will be low, and it will provide an advantage with its precise orientation and tracking of moving objects.

The primary usage areas of GÖKBERK are planned as land and sea platforms, power plants, airports, border posts, headquarters buildings and convoy transit routes. In the following stages, it is planned to integrate laser weapon technology into air defense systems with the improvement of the efficiency and power level of the laser.

We will learn more about GÖKSUR and GÖKBERK at IDEF’23. IDEF’23 International Defense Industry Fair will open its doors to defense industry professionals and students aiming for a career in this field on 25-28 July 2023 at Istanbul Tüyap Fair and Congress Center.
