Xiaomi Wireless AR Glass Discovery Edition features
Xiaomi Wireless AR Glass Discovery Edition has a very light structure of 126 grams, consisting of a mixture of carbon fiber and magnesium-lithium. While the screens in the glasses offer Full HD visuals with 1200 nits brightness, Micro-OLED panels lie under these screens. Xiaomi has placed 3 cameras on the front of the AR glasses for environment mapping. Instead of using a standard lithium-ion battery in its glasses, Xiaomi uses a smaller silicon-oxygen anode battery that it says it has developed. It is stated that this battery also contributes to the weight.
On the hardware side, there is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2 Gen 1 chip, but the glasses do not have a storage unit. So in order to use the device, it needs to be connected to a device such as your phone. That’s where the phrase “Wireless” comes from. Xiaomi says it uses a “proprietary low-latency communication link” in its AR glasses. According to Xiaomi, thanks to this new wireless connection, the delay times are at the level of 50ms, which is comparable to wired connections. According to the reports, Xiaomi was able to achieve this low latency using a combination of WiFi and Bluetooth.
If you like these details, I have some bad news. It is not clear when the Xiaomi Wireless AR Glass Discovery Edition will hit the market. The product is currently in the prototype stage and is being tested by a limited user base.
