This technology, called “NVIDIA ACE” (Avatar Cloud Engine), reveals that the blessings of artificial intelligence will be pumped into the video game world. NPCs in video games will be able to talk to players in real time and without any limitations thanks to NVIDIA ACE technology.
NVIDIA ACE technology isn’t perfect for now. However, a demo showing what the technology can do reveals that it will improve as developers take advantage of this technology. NVIDIA ACE turns text into voice and voice into gestures
NVIDIA’s new technology combines AI-driven technologies the company has designed in the past. That is, artificial intelligence like ChatGPT will first provide the creation of texts. These texts will first be converted into audio with artificial intelligence algorithms created by NVIDIA. This sound will also be translated as gestures and facial expressions with another artificial intelligence technology of NVIDIA. After all this transformation, any NPC in any game will feel like a real human.
NVIDIA ACE isn’t the first work around for NPCs. The technology called “Ghostwriter”, which Ubisoft announced a few months ago, allowed the creation of more realistic texts for NPCs. In addition, Skyrim, which is among the most popular games in the world, brought ChatGPT integration to NPCs. Thus, the experience of the players has been improved. All these studies clearly reveal how the video game world will change in the era of artificial intelligence.
