Today, millions of people actively use Google’s Gmail service, both for business and personally. There may also be important mails lost among the e-mails that accumulate. But now, according to Google’s announcement, searching for an important old email is about to become much easier. Because the company recently announced an artificial intelligence update for Gmail.

New “Top Results” category

In the next 15 days, users will start seeing “Top Results” above the “All Results” section when they search their inbox. The new category is powered by Google’s machine learning models, which analyze the search term, recent emails, and “other relevant factors” to determine which messages will count as the best match for the query.

This news is the latest in a series of strategic changes for the email service, including a controversial update to its inactive account policy in May. When a Google account is not used for two years, the company account will be able to delete all its content and data. In February, Google also finished rolling out the new Gmail interface for every user, redesigned and emphasizing the company’s other productivity tools.
