Northern Ireland-based Artemis Technologies has announced the launch of the world’s first commercially viable all-electric, high-speed foil workboat series. The company said that the boat they developed provides up to 90% energy savings compared to fossil fuel powered boats.
First delivery may be in 2023
The boat, which can reach a range of 111 km at 46 km/h, has a maximum speed of 63 km/h. With a length of 11.5 meters, the boat will be able to carry two crew and six passengers.
Company founder Iain Percy: “Combining experience from the worlds of high-performance sailing, motorsport and advanced manufacturing, the electric propulsion system we designed and developed is an absolute game changer for the industry in terms of range, cost savings and minimal footprint created. ” said.
