READING NOW Artemis 1, which was expected to launch today, has been delayed

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) continues its efforts to take the step of its long-term project Artemis, which aims to send human beings to the Moon. In this context, the agency prepared for Artemis 1, its first step, wanted to launch the rocket today. However, it was not desired.

The new date for Artemis 1 has not been announced yet

Artemis 1, which is seen as the first step of big projects on the moon, is facing a big problem these days. A problem with the launch rocket that will host the project caused the project not to be realized on the day. NASA announced that it has postponed the project, which was decided to be launched today.

NASA’s statement was as follows;

The Artemis I mission to the Moon was delayed. Crews tried to fix an issue with a leak in the equipment that fed the rocket fuel, but failed. While tanking the rocket, a leak occurred on the supply side of the 8-inch quick disconnect while trying to transfer fuel to the rocket. Attempts to fix it so far have been unsuccessful.

NASA has pressed the button for the first project, which consists of 3 stages. NASA, which wants to start the first step of the Artemis mission these days, apparently failed to achieve what it wanted. The institution introduced the Space Launch System (SLS), which will be used for the Artemis project, which was subject to delays before, to the world at Kennedy Space Center in the past months.

Artemis 1, the first step of the long-term project, is a pioneer for the mission in general. This first step will be undertaken to test rockets and systems before a crewed flight into lunar orbit with the Artemis 2 program. If the second step is successful, a crewed landing will be made on the lunar surface with Artemis 3, which has been postponed to 2025.
