The Artemis 1 vehicle, critical to NASA’s manned moon mission, was launched from Earth this week. The spacecraft (SLS) used for the Artemis 1 mission generates about 15% more thrust than the Saturn V rocket, which sent astronauts to the Moon.

The Artemis 1 mission will pave the way for astronauts to return to the surface of the Moon 50 years later. In the first test flight, an uncrewed Orion capsule will be sent around the Moon, and many technologies will be tested during the mission. The main goal of the Artemis mission is to place a gateway in orbit around the Moon and build a permanent base on the lunar surface. NASA’s Artemis 1 mission will form the basis of Mars missions planned for the 2030s.

Here are the images from Artemis 1:

Although Artemis 1 encountered many misfortunes during the trial, it finally started its journey towards the Moon recently. Artemis 1’s Orion module contains 16 cameras, some designed to monitor the spacecraft and others to observe the moon. And images from Artemis 1, shared by NASA on its Twitter account, include images and videos of the spacecraft moving away from Earth step by step.
