The company announced that the Blind Date feature is coming to Tinder. It places Tinder’s newly introduced option at the bottom of the ‘Discover’ page. It appeared as an extension of the ‘Quick Chat’ feature, where members were tested and matched before seeing each other’s profiles.
First of all, in the application, you need to answer some questions. Tinder then matches people with similar answers as you. After a while, in a conversation that takes place, more questions come to you. When the timer expires, you decide whether to match or not. If both parties decide to match, the match and profiles are exposed.
Tinder: “People using Blind Dates get more matches”
Tinder revealed that in early tests, people using the Blind Date feature got 40 percent more matches than members with an open profile. The company has shown this to be more willing to talk between users and then match up with someone overlooked in another ‘Discover’ setting.
Kyle Miller, Tinder Vice President of Product Innovation, made some statements. At this point, he said:
“The new Blind Date experience offers a surprisingly fun, joke-based way to interact and build connections, all new to Tinder. There’s something really special about introducing one’s own personality in conversation, without the biases that can be gained from photos.”

Blind dating, which is no longer a building block of the dating experience, is back thanks to Gen-Z. Tinder surveyed users and found that 41 percent of Gen-Z participants would go on a blind date. However, they said they had no idea how to start one. While dating apps can sometimes result in problems, Tinder envisions a return to honest, fluid and transparent dating.
